The Edmonton Rocketry Club hosts several events throughout the year, as
well as being invited to other events to showcase rocketry to surprised
and impressed public every year. Launches
The next scheduled launch will be the ERC's annual Fire & Ice event on March 3. The Fire & Ice launch site is near Viking, AB.
Fire & Ice is a high-power launch meaning that both model rockets & high power rockets are allowed. Model rocket flights are open to anyone however in order to fly HPR you must be a CAR member. Range fees are $20 if you fly HPR, for model-only there is no charge. Our flight ceiling this year is 10,000'. In the event of inclement weather we have backup dates of either March 4, March 10, or March 11. Other launches that ERC will be attending in 2012:
ERC is also planning several model rocket launches throughout the summer near Edmonton, more information will be posted once winter has left us.
Meetings
The next club meeting will be March 10, unless Fire & Ice needs to make use of that date as an alternate. |
